Gabrielle stood in the ocean, the water drenching the bottom of her floor-length red, Chinese-style dress. She didn't care that she was practically ruining a perfectly good dress, she was just comfortable in the freezing cold water.
She wasn't sure what compelled her to go there, in the middle of the night, and stand idly in the rising water. It just seemed like the appropriate thing to do. She had no logical reason for doing it, none at all. But does everything in life need a logical answer? The answer was no, at least in her mind.
She raised her arms as a gust of wind blew her hair around her smiling face. She inhaled the salty, frigid air and turned around, heading back to the beach. The water tried to pull her back, but she was stronger than the beginning tide. She was cold, anyway, and was just beginning to feel it.
I'm going to be sick as a dog tomorrow. She smiled at the thought, because it didn't really matter to her. She was too happy to care about being sick. She had everything she could want.
She had a mother who loved her, a man who cared for her like nobody could, and an engagement ring that would make Madonna cry in envy. Was there really anything else in the world that could beat all of that?
Yes. She growled as the uninvited thought made its way into her concious mind. Yes, there is. You know there is.
No! Go away. Don't make me think about that...
The voice in the back of her head just sighed and repeated itself. Finally, she was able to push it away, but its haunting voice remained. She couldn't shake away the shivers that shot up her spine, and it wasn't the cold that made them. It was the thought of her father, and how she would gladly give up everything to have him back.
She sighed and sat down on a log, shivering from the cold and the dark thoughts that plagued her. She'd come here to get away from them... but they wouldn't leave her alone.

Tresspassing was something that most humans thought of simply as a minor offence, a fine and sharp warning from the land owner and then all was over, no more issues, no more trespassing, so why would the lone twenty year old worry about his presence on the beach? Many reasons really, but one was the most prominent and another stood looming behind. The treaty, not just some promise made by two bustling neighbors, but something much more, something that effected more that just two people, or two creatures to be exact. His ‘father’, Carlisle made the pact with the Quileute Indian tribe at the local La Push reservation, the two beings would live in peace, or as close to it as possible, unless a human was bitten by one of the Cullens. So why had this Cullen, Jasper, chosen to come here, invade on the Quileute’s property? Maybe it was because at this point in time he hated himself so much that he didn’t really care what was going to happen, he had grown tired of the distasteful animal blood that his family had been living off of for all of their existence. He needed a change, something that was lively, something that tasted so much better than bear or fox, something like human. With all of his might, the light haired man tried his best to keep himself from leaving, he even shouted out to the others back at the house, but no one was there to save him. Carlisle was at work, which could be expected, Esme was around town, trying to act like any normal Forks town member would, Emmett and Rosalie were off somewhere doing who-knows-what, and Alice and Edward were with Bella. Jasper was a victim of his own crime. His orbs were now black with only a faint hint of gold in them, time was running out, soon he couldn’t control himself anymore, he had to get back to the house and lock himself in his room, anything, anything to keep his family safe, to keep Alice safe.
His good side was about to win him over when the wind in his pale face carried a scent, an alluring scent that he knew too well, one that he had to endure every day when he went to school, the smell of humans. His thoughts began a war, one side being sensible while the other just craving for the blood of this human that he had caught wind of. What about Alice and the others? One side said, You know you want to, you haven’t tasted any in so long, it’s about time you have a sample. The other replied, he didn’t know what to do, but before he knew it, he found himself just yards away from a female, his muscles tensed, urging him not to do this, not to take her life. It would be worth it. Chimed in his evil half. Still, Jasper kept himself from moving, afraid to release his grip on his tendons in fear that he would automatically step forward towards the human, towards his prey. He knew time was running out, he knew that he couldn’t go on like this for much longer, at least she wasn’t bleeding, if she was, there never would have been a chance. Poor thing, humans, the lot of them, so fragile, so weak, what would it be like to feel so powerless? The human went and sat down and she appeared to be in thought, the light haired male felt his thoughts wandering, his power beginning to kick in, what emotion was he sending out this time? Sleepiness. No! He stopped himself; he mustn’t do this, for Carlisle, for Esme, for Edward and Emmett, and Rosalie, and most importantly, Alice. Jasper moved his arms so his nails dug into the tree, he would make his way back into the forest and return home. It wasn’t safe here, if those dogs caught his scent by now, they would be here any minute, and that only meant one thing for him, death.

Gabrielle had always been good at knowing things, sensing things, and at that moment she sensed the presence of another. She looked around, but it was very difficult to see, and the moon wasn't out that night. The stars did not shine brightly enough, even though the clouds had begun to clear up. It was dark, almost pitch black, and she could only see a few feet in front of her.
But she knew somebody was there. She heard a slight movement, and felt somebody's hard eyes pierce through her skin. But it was getting really hard to hang on and listen for whoever it was, because she was beginning to feel the consequences of staying up for almost two days straight. All those Vault and Monster energy drinks couldn't help her now, and she'd forgotten to bring one. But she couldn't fall asleep, not on the beach. Her mother would be worried, and Jacob would probably scold her for coming out here, in the middle of the night, without him.
But he wasn't exactly around much anymore. Him and his pack were searching the nearby areas after those two vampire attacks, both of which Jacob had sensed. He'd killed them so easily, it was almost traumatizing. But, as it would be, she'd seen much worse than a werewolf killing a vampire. It sounded funny, she knew, but there were things much worse in the world. And it was kind of a release to see the vampires killed off, especially after what one of them did to her father.
Stupid leeches taking advantage of the poor, homeless people living in the Superdome. Nobody ever knew how some of them went missing, and eventually people began to assume that those victims had never showed up anyway. And it wasn't only people going missing at the Superdome. People, who had been seen just days before on their roof, suddenly weren't around when the military and FEMA arrived to rescue them. They were gone, and nobody suspected a thing. They just believed they were dead, perhaps burried beneath the debris and water, or that they had evacuated and that claims of somebody being there were false.
Gabrielle stood and squinted, looking around the area. As much as she loved La Push, it was getting creepy. "I'm being paranoid." She said to herself and turned around to head back to her car. She could at least fall asleep in that, if need be, and drive back home in the morning. She would get the nagging of a lifetime, but at least she wouldn't drive off the road and kill herself.
She walked a few feet before hitting a log and falling over. "Ouch!" She grimaced and picked herself up.

"Jasper!" Alice slammed into him from behind, wrapping her strong arms around him. "Oh Jasper! It's been so long since you've been gone!" She pried him around. "Are you alright?" Her ocher eyes glittered.

The human seemed to be getting tired, whether it had anything to do with himself or not, Jasper didn't really want to think about it. He just wished that she would just get away from here, or maybe just sink into the sand, if she left, the light haired vampire was afraid that the chase would be on, and then it would be over with. She did end up standing, clearly uneasy with her surroundings, she knew that he was here, well, she knew that someone was watching her. The human began walking along the beach, parallel to the water, where was she going? Back to her car, or maybe to one of the Quileute’s houses, either way, Jasper had lost the grip on his sanity, he needed to taste blood, real blood, not imitation. His grip on the tree trunk was released and he was getting ready to burst to his victim’s side, but then an iron grip wrapped around his waist, keeping him from moving. Most of his previous thoughts were cast aside, he knew who it was, but he had been too enveloped into stalking this human to notice her appearance. “Alice.” He whispered, much more calm than his companion, but no les excited than she. Jasper glanced into her topaz orbs, his own a liquid onyx, immediately, he felt ashamed for what he was getting ready to do, but the thirst was still there. And the human was so close. He glanced over his shoulder and spotted her form still retreating in the same direction as before. “Too long indeed,” he agreed, but added his response to her question in a much more solemn tone, “I’m dandy.” He replied sarcastically, it wasn’t meant to be mean towards Alice; it was Jasper scrutinizing himself, for what he had almost done and what he still longed to do. The human was still there, powerless as ever.

Gabrielle stopped and held her breath. She heard someone speak, or maybe it was the wind? She didn't know, but the "voice" sounded oddly familiar. I'm losing it. Where the hell is Jacob?
She scowled and stopped, turning around. She knew there was probably nobody there, but she called out anyway. "Hello?" She knew nobody would answer.

Jake had sensed them, vampires on their territory. His powerful forelegs pulled him along the ground, faster than a cheetah and with more stamina than one. "GABRIELLE!" He called, his voice bursting from his throat as more of a howl. He knew that any vampires in the area would scatter at the sound. He heard several other calls from other directions.

"Jake?"
Gabrielle spun around, flailing her arms around. "JAKE!" She jumped, smiling, happy he was finally appearing. She'd missed him...

"Jasper... I've missed you so much." She smiled up at him. "Huh?" She turned her head as they heard the wolf call. "Wolves? What were you doing Jazz?" She looked up at him. "Jasper?" She sounded more panicked now. "Jasper what have you been doing?" She looked up at him.

He heard the human call out in confusion and laughed under his breath, why were humans always so nervous? Then, quite closeby, Jasper heard the noise that he had expected at any moment, but now that Alice was here and in danger because of him, he was scared for her. "I wasn't doing anything just... watching." He replied defensively, it was a bit of an understatement considering that he was about to spring when Alice showed up. "I think we better go... or something." He suggested, a bit unwilling to leave the fresh smell of blood, but his love for Alice overpowered that. "I need to eat." He said aloud, not really to the female, but just a reminder to himself that he was still extremely thirsty.
[ooc] Sorry for the craptastic post. Jazzy muse is going byee.
